He was known for his size, strength, beaty and courage. He was a viking who plundered in both the east and the west. In 994 he was christened. In 995 he became King and started to spread Christianity in his country. He founded Nidaros (Trondhjem) in 997. In the year 1000, on his way home from Pomerania, he was attacked by the Norwegian Eirik Jarl and King Olov Skötkonung of Sweden and King Sven Twobeard of Denmark. He died at the sea battle of Svolder.

He also had a son, Magnus I , with Alfhild.
He used to be a viking, but was christened in France and returned to Norway, where he was elected King in 1015. He continued Olav I's christian mission, built churches and had the destroyed Nidaros re-built.
He was deposed in 1028, after an up-rizing supported by King Knud of Denmark. He returned in 1030, but died in the battle of Stiklastad on the 29 of July 1030.
Soon there were reports of miracles near his grave, and he became Norway's national saint. He is buried in the Cathedral of Nidaros.

Håkon had his father Magnus Eiriksson imprisoned in Autumn 1361. On 25 of February 1362 Håkon was elected King of Sweden. Later that year he made peace with his father.
Both Magnus and Håkon were deposed in 1364, and Albrekt of Mecklenburg became King of Sweden. Håkon kept Norway and when he died, the Norwegian throne was inherited by his son Olav.

Recognized as Margareta's heir in Norway 1388, moved to Denmark this year and was adopted by her. Norwegian Hereditary King 1389, Elected King of Denmark 1396 and King of Sweden the same year. Crowned King of all three countries in Kalmar on 17 of June 1397. Shared the power with Margareta until her death in 1412. Deposed in Sweden in October 1439, in Denmark the same year and in Norway in 1441. He was succeeded by his nephew Christoffer . He died 3 of May 1459 in Pomerania.

In reality Erik had lost his power in 1436 and he moved to Visborg's Castle at Gotland. He tried to regain his lost thrones, but in 1449 he returned the island of Gotland to Kristian I and moved to his Pomeranian dukedom.

After Adolf of Slesvig in 1448 had rejected the Danish crown, it was offered to Kristian om September the same year. In return he married King Christoffer 's widow. He was crowned in Copenhagen 28 of October 1449, elected in southern Norway in June 1449, crowned in Trondheim Autumn 1449. Took over all of Norway from Carl Knutsson in May 1450. In 1457 he was asked to become King of Sweden and was crowned in Uppsala 3 of July 1457. In 1459 he became Duke of Slesvig and Count of Holstein. He was deposed in Sweden in 1464. He died on May 21, 1481 in Copenhagen.

He was very popular, brave and ambitious. Successful in the war against Sweden in 1611-1613. Fought for Protestantism during the 30 year war, but refused to cooperate with the Swedish King Gustaf II Adolf. In 1626 the Imperial Army defeated him in Lutter am Barenberge, and he was forced to accept the peace treaty of Lübeck in 1625.
He also lost the war against Sweden 1643-1645, and was forced to accept the peace treaty of Brömsebro in 1645.

He lost the war against Sweden in 1814, which meant that he had to give up the Norwegian throne. He died on December 3, 1839 and was in Denmark succeeded by his nephew, Christian VIII, who had been King of Norway in 1814 as Christian Frederik
Born on September 18, 1786. Parents: Prince Frederik of Denmark and Sophia Frederica of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. When Denmark lost Norway to Sweden in 1814, Christian Frederik was elected King of Norway. But Sweden attacked Norway and Christian Frederik had to leave Norway for Denmark. In 1838 he succeeded his uncle, King Frederik VI , as King Christian VIII of Denmark. He died on January 20, 1848.

Carl XIII became King of Sweden after his nephew Gustaf IV Adolf had been deposed. He accepted a new constitution, which stipulated that the power shoul be divided between the King and the Parliament.
Since Carl XIII had no children, a Crown Prince had to be elected. The Parliament elected the Danish Prince Kristian August of Augustenborg, and he changed his name to Carl August. In May 1810 Carl August died of stroke. False rumours said that he had been murdered by the Gustavians, who wanted Gustaf IV Adolf's son Gustaf elected. As a result of the rumours, the highest member of the Royal Court, Count Axel von Fersen (a Gustavian), was lynched.
Several candidates were now discussed: Prince Fredrik Kristian of Augustenborg, King Fredrik VI of Denmark, Prince Kristian Fredrik of Denmark and some Prince of Oldenburg. But a French general was elected: Jean Baptiste Bernadotte, who changed his name to Carl Johan and was adopted by Carl XIII.
Carl Johan and the Swedish army defeated Denmark in 1814, and Denmark lost Norway to Sweden. The Norwegians did not accept this and made Prince Christian Frederik King of Norway. As a result of that, Sweden attacked Norway and the Norwegians had to accept Carl XIII as King. On the other hand, the Swedish King had to accept the Norwegian Constitution that had been adopted on May 17, 1814.
